Business Process Management
A process architecture shows what the organization does and how that work connects. Automation pays off when it is built on that map.
Context
When processes live only in people's heads or in outdated procedures, responsibilities stay unclear — and automation simply moves the same inefficiencies into software.
What I do
- Discovering processes and modelling them in BPMN 2.0
- Designing a multi-level process architecture for the organization
- Analyzing and improving priority processes
- Designing and implementing processes on a BPMS
How I usually approach it
01
The high-level map
Design the organization's process structure across several levels, drawing on reference frameworks such as APQC PCF.
02
Discover and model
Work with process owners and model the flow of work in BPMN 2.0.
03
Analyze and improve
Find bottlenecks, rework, and unclear responsibilities, then design the target process.
04
Automate
Implement priority processes on a BPMS and test them with the people who use them.
Potential deliverables
- The organization's process architecture
- BPMN models of the documented processes
- A process profile and owner for each process
- Processes implemented on a BPMS
The deliverables of each engagement are agreed at the start, based on the organization's needs.
Tools and methods
- BPMN 2.0
- APQC PCF
